THE SUMMER SESSION AT MEADVILLE. The ten weeks session at Meadville will be divided into three parts: first, a Religious Education Institute from June 28th to July 16th inclusive; second, a Social Service Institute from July 19th to August 13th inclusive, and finally an additional three weeks of instruction in applied ethics, pastoral care and social service for the seniors and parish assistant students. Two memr bers of the Meadville Faculty, Professor Spencer and President Southworth, will be on duty throughout the session. The other members of the Faculty for the Religious Education Institute will be Rev. William I. Lawrance, Rev. Florence Buck, Professor Walter S. Athearn of DesMoines, Iowa, Professor Hugh Hartshorne of Union Theological Seminary and Rev. Richard W. Boynton. Professor Athearn will address himself in five lectures to the problems of religious education as they appear in the Church, the Home, and the School. Professor Hartshorne will give eleven lectures on the "Psychology of Religious Development." Professor Spencer, in sixteen lectures, will consider the methods and ideals for practical social activity on the part of children and adults. Mr. Boynton will give a series of evening lectures on "The Religion of the American Poets," and President Southworth will lecture on "Poetry as a Means of Religious Education" and "Problems of Church Organization and Activity." A new feature of this Institute will be its practice classes. Among the non-resident members of the Faculty already secured for the Social Service Institute are Rev. Elmer S. Forbes, ...
